It wasn’t much of shock that Ohio State took home another win this week. This week the Bucks took on the Oklahoma Sooners with an ending score of 45-24. In a shocking development, unlike the past two opponents the Sooners decided to show up and put up more than a few points.
Q1: At the 7:35 mark of the first quarter, Ohio State goes for it on fourth down on the Oklahoma 36 yard line. Not only gets the first down, but scores too. On the next possession Oklahoma goes for it on the fourth down on OSU’s 33 and instead of scoring or even getting the first down Ohio State picks it off and returns it 68 yards for a touchdown! On the next kickoff Oklahoma takes it 97 yards for a touchdown. Making the ending score for the first quarter 14-7.
Q2: To open up the second quarter Ohio State scores off a JT Barrett pass too Brown. And the scoring continues with Oklahoma driving down too OSU’s 9 yard line and kicking a field goal. A few drives later Oklahoma would throw another interception and on the very next play Barrett completes a pass too Brown for 37 yards and a touchdown. Oklahoma responds by driving down too OSU’s 35 yard line and throwing a touchdown. Not to be outdone, OSU scores again, Barrett throws a touchdown pass 25 yards out too Brown ending the first half with a score 35-17.
Q3: Too start off the third quarter OSU would drive down the field and score the first touchdown of the second half. Late into the third quarter Oklahoma scores from 5 yards out. That would be the only time either team scored in the third quarter.
Q4: If you thought the third quarter was boring, the only scoring in the fourth quarter would come from a 31 yard field goal made by Ohio State.
Overall this game was a lot more exciting than the first two games of the season. Next week we have off but when we come back we play Rutgers at home.
